FMU in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drug & Crime (UNODC) and National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) hosted two training workshops from October 11-12, 2023 and October 23-24, 2023 for CTD-Sindh and CTD Balochistan, respectively. These workshops brought together around 50 dedicated Investigation Officers (IOs) from the Counter Terrorism Departments of Sindh and Balochistan.

The focus was on effective utilization of financial intelligence disseminated by FMU and strengthening international cooperation in the ongoing fight against terrorism. Participants gained invaluable insights into the core elements of financial intelligence, particularly its role in combating terrorism financing and related crimes, with a special emphasis on FMU’s goAML system.

Furthermore, they acquired the knowledge and skills to initiate international cooperation requests under the MLA Act, 2020 and explored the informal channels of international cooperation through FMU, fostering FIU to FIU cooperation. Together, we are taking important steps to bolster our nation’s security and international efforts in the fight against terrorism and terrorism financing.
