Workshop on Development and Utilization of Financial Intelligence for CTD and Prosecutors of Balochistan

FMU in partnership with UNODC, recently organized a three-day training workshop from 13-15 May 2024 at FMU Karachi Office. The workshop brought together Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials and prosecutors from Balochistan, focusing on empowering newly inducted Investigation Officers (IOs) and prosecutors with essential skills in financial intelligence investigation.

During the workshop, we delved into various aspects of financial intelligence, ranging from receiving STRs from reporting entities, developing financial intelligence, and its effective utilization in combating terrorism financing. With the expertise of eight resource persons from FMU, the State Bank of Pakistan, and private banks, participants gained valuable insights into strengthening investigation skills, cooperation and leveraging tools like the goAML system.

This initiative underscores our commitment to bolstering the capabilities of law enforcement agencies in their crucial mission to combat terrorism and related crimes. Together, we’re working towards a safer, more secure future.
