Capacity Building Sessions for DNFBPs on AML/CFT Compliance and TFS Obligations (July-December 2021)

As part of ongoing outreach to Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs), Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU) in collaboration with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and DNFBP-HQ, FBR conducted a series of AML/CFT Capacity Building and Awareness Sessions for DNFBPs during July-December 2021 in the cities of Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

The representatives from DNFBP-HQ-FBR, Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), National FATF Secretariat, National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), Institute of Chartered Accounts of Pakistan (ICAP) and Ministry of foreign affairs (MoFA) imparted the trainings to the participants including real estate agents, jewelers, accountants, and lawyers.

The areas covered were AML / CFT regime/ Compliance and TFS Obligations for DNFBPs in Pakistan. FMU gave presentation on the role of FMU, STR/CTR reporting requirements and Red Flags for reporting of STRs. The presentations were followed by a very interactive Questions & Answers session. The sessions were largely acknowledged by the participants.
